DAY 1 : Phnom Penh to Kep – 220 KM
As we leave the city of PP we head South into the Kep National Park, surrounded by the Gulf of Thailand, and it is not long before we enter the greenery and fields of surrounding agricultural areas. We venture on to dirt roads to check out villages and village life, arriving in to the sleepy, French style town of Kampot. Overnight accommodation in Kep with great food and great swimming pool .
DAY 2 : Kep to Kampot – 180 KM
We leave Kep to visit the world-famous pepper farm area of Kampot where we visit a farm and see how the pepper is produced. We have lunch in Kampot, followed by a fantastic ride up the Bokor Mountain and up to Bokor Hill station which sits at 1100m, featuring fantastic scenery and cool mountain air. We then make our way back to Kapot where we stay in a resort on the river.
DAY 3 : Kampot to Tatai River - 270 KM
Heading North, we will ride to the Tatai River, bringing us into the Cardamon mountain range towards the coastal town of Koh Kong, the gateway to the Cardamon Mountains. A longboat will be waiting for us on the Tatai river to take us to our jungle lodge.
DAY 4 : Tatai/Koh Kong to O’soam – 170
Get ready for a great day’s jungle riding North across the rugged Cardamon Mountains. These mountains are so dense that logging is virtually impossible, and this area has many wildlife sanctuaries preserving the beauty of this area. We will ride through remote areas to O’soam, a small commune of 4 villages. We stay in rural settings where we really are at one with nature and dine on traditional Cambodian food.
DAY 5 : O’soam to Pursat – 240 KM
A very scenic ride through the Cardamon mountains and remote villages. We arrive in the town of Veal Veng for lunch. Our final destination for the day is Pursat where we can wash the dirt off in our hotel swimming pool.
DAY 6 : Pursat to Battambang – 180 KM
We head North through remote villages on the road to Battambang, crossing small rivers and streams. We will observe many small, friendly communities and traditional ways of living. We arrive in Battambang, a busy and bustling French colonial style city, on the Sangker River. Here we will stay overnight in a resort style accommodation with swimming pool and tasty cuisine. Night markets along the river feature great food. In the late afternoon, a trip to the killing caves, followed by the incredible sight of 10,000 bats leaving the cave at dusk.
DAY 7 : Battambang to Siem Reap - 175 KM
The final day is an exciting day as we ride to Siem Reap, our final destination and of course, the famous Angkor Wat temples. We arrive in time to be taken to the temples for the afternoon and dusk and this is certainly one of the highlights of the tour.
