8-Day Overland 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) Expedition starting from the temples of Siem Reap, charting the rugged rural roads along the Mekong River down to Phnom Penh, crossing into Vietnam via the Mekong Delta, and concluding in Ho Chi Minh City, This 8-day private 4WD and river journey perfectly blends ancient history with the vibrant life of the Mekong Delta. The journey starts in Siem Reap, travels through Phnom Penh, winds down the Mekong River, and finishes in Ho Chi Minh City, offering a deep cultural immersion across Cambodia and Vietnam.

Day 1: Siem Reap – Gateway to Angkor ( L, D )
  • Morning: Begin your journey by meeting your professional off-road driver. Venture out to the Angkor Archaeological Park. Explore the majestic Angkor Wat temple and the smiling stone faces of Bayon. 
  • Afternoon: Put your 4WD vehicle to work navigating dirt trails away from regular tourist paths. Head to Ta Prohm, the iconic "Tomb Raider" temple choked by massive tree roots. 
  • Evening: Dine at an authentic Khmer restaurant in downtown Siem Reap. Prepare your packing for the cross-country overland leg starting tomorrow. 
Day 2: Siem Reap to Kampong Thom – Off-Road Temples ( B, L, D )
  • Morning: Drive southeast through Cambodia’s red-dirt countryside. Use the 4WD setup to conquer unpaved trails passing rural villages and stilt houses.
  • Afternoon: Arrive at the pre-Angkorian temple complex of Sambor Prei Kuk. This UNESCO World Heritage site features 7th-century brick temples nestled deep inside a dense forest canopy. 
  • Evening: Relax and sleep at a local hotel in Kampong Thom. 
Day 3: Kampong Thom to Kratie – Sighting the Mekong Dolphins ( B, L, D )

Day 6: Phnom Penh to Chau Doc (Vietnam) – Water Border Crossing ( B, L, D )
  • Morning: Leave the capital early. Drive south toward the Kaam Samnor / Vinh Xuong international border. Complete custom formalities to exit Cambodia and enter Vietnam.

Day 7: Chau Doc to Can Tho – Deep in the Mekong Delta ( B, L, D )
  • Morning: Push deeper into Vietnam's rice basket. Drive your 4WD through rustic backroads lined with fruit orchards and traditional brick kilns.
  • Afternoon: Reach Can Tho, the economic heartbeat of the delta. Board a small sampan boat to navigate the narrow, tranquil canals shaded by water coconut trees.

Day 8: Can Tho to Ho Chi Minh City – Floating Markets to Metropolis( B, L)
  • Morning: Rise early at 6:00 AM to see the famous Cai Rang Floating Market at peak operation. Watch hundreds of boats sell fresh tropical fruits, vegetables, and hot breakfast noodle soups directly on the water.
  • Afternoon: Start the final drive leg northeast toward Ho Chi Minh City. Cross the massive bridge spans over the Mekong Delta channels.
